Who could imagine that rock salt would make an excellent formation for a fantastic luxury home? David Jameson calls this home NaC1, the chemical formula for the mineral.
Its sheer imperfection makes it exemplary. Whole blocks of the luxury home’s white cement exterior give way to large windows, lending the impression of “peeking inside,” more so at other parts of the house where glass doors lead to the garden. The sheer white color of the home against the grey granite steps create a sense of contrast, more so in the midst of its surrounding greenery.
The NaC1 House is situated on half an acre of land in Bethesda, Maryland. Inside, the white and neutral palette continues. A tall ceiling in the living room lends openness and airiness. Jameson has done some truly compelling work here.
